Under perfect conditions on a spacious deck, the Pirates’ faced a tough challenge against a fast and physical Mazenod outfit, ultimately falling 130–24 in Andrew Hocheggor’s 200th.

A scoreless second quarter saw Mazenod break out to a 54 point lead but Nelson, Hammer, and George Fletcher worked tirelessly to stem the tide and stood out as the Pirates' best performers in the early terms.

However, the task grew even tougher before the main break when Disco went down with an ankle injury, leaving a major void in the lineup and further stinging hopes of a comeback.

The third quarter proved to be a defensive slog. While the Pirates’ battled hard through the middle—led by a standout quarter from Craig Sanders—the boys were unable to find the big sticks, managing only a series of behinds while Mazenod continued to extend their buffer.

The game drifted away from the Pirates’ in the final term as Mazenod pushed the lead beyond 100 points. In good news, the moment of the day came late in the quarter when Andrew Hochegger, playing his milestone 200th game, slotted a deserved consolation goal to cap off his achievement.

Along with milestone man, George Fletcher, Jake Williams, Nelson Forrest, Hamish McLeod, Ned Evans-Brumby, and Craig Sanders were named among the Pirates' best.

With results elsewhere keeping the bottom half of the ladder tightly packed, the boys now turn their focus to the last six weeks of the season, aiming to secure vital victories to cement their place in Premier C.
